Immaculate Weather Returns to the Region

Good Sunday morning, folks! It rained for the 5000th weekend in a row, but the weather behind that system is looking great, as immaculate weather returns to the region.

Superb Sunday

Folks, lets just call Saturday was it was: BLEH.

Another Saturday, another rainy day. At least this one featured lots and lots of thunder and lightning to keep things interesting.

The front passed through last night, but guess what? It isn’t that cold behind it! Even under breezy northwesterly flow this afternoon, we’ll be able to rise up into the mid and upper 50s!

Highs won't be crazy this afternoon, but they'll be pretty nice! h/t pivotalweather

Sunshine won’t be super abundant, but it will be there under partly sunny skies as high clouds should be traversing the region throughout the day.

Overall, it looks like a wonderful day. Throw on a light jacket, spend some time smelling the actual outdoors! Or just take a nap to recover from Daylight Saving time.

Finally! A String of Nice Days

Monday through Wednesday looks superb, with Wednesday and Thursday looking quite warm! The only thing that dampens this is the persistence of mid and upper level clouds.

Monday and Tuesday will be very similar, with high clouds developing and moving on through the region, creating partly sunny skies across the region.

We’ll be under the influence of a surface high pressure system that will move to our east by Wednesday morning. That means we’ll see westerly to northwesterly flow shift to southerly flow by Wednesday morning.

The high pressure system will dominate our weather for the next few days. h/t COD Weather

This means Monday and Tuesday will be okay temperature wise, with highs rising into the upper 50s each day. No precipitation (!!!!) is expected during this timespan.

By Wednesday, a strong surface low will developed across the central Plains, and will be rocking towards us. A warm front looks to pass Wednesday morning, and I would expect some light showers along it.

Behind it, though, breezy southerly winds look to push temps into the upper 60s and lower 70s!

The front brings heavy rainfall Wednesday night and Thursday morning, but with southwesterly flow persisting behind that initial front, Thursday afternoon may see highs in the 70s.

The models have been slowing down the larger scale system a bit, which would push the heavy rainfall further into Thursday. Stay tuned!

Well folks, that is all I have! Be sure to enjoy the weather over the next 4 or 5 days, as next weekend looks cold again. Have a great day, and be sure to follow @wxornotBG on Facebook and Twitter!
