We will be dealing cloudy skies and therefore sub-freezing temperatures and slippery roads until about 9 a.m. this morning, so be careful if you have to get out early this morning. Sunny skies will speed up our thaw for a quiet and warmer rest of our Saturday with an afternoon high reaching the low 40’s. Overnight, we are likely to not even dip below freezing alleviating any slippery travel woes for tomorrow morning.

Quiet But Cloudy Tomorrow

Tomorrow looks to be pretty gloomy with extensive cloud cover, a chance of sprinkles, and a high once again in the low 40’s. A weak system to our north will be responsible for this dull weather and could spread an inch or two of snow around Louisville, so be careful if traveling that way Sunday afternoon or Monday morning.

Big Changes Coming Monday

Get ready for wild roller coaster temperature ride as our next major system approaches Monday. Temperatures will first rise from morning lows in the 30’s to highs in the mid 50’s Monday afternoon under cloudy skies and gusty winds before a cold front passes through our area. The latest model guidance has the precipitation from this cold front starting as rain Monday evening and then quickly transitioning to snow overnight. At three days out, it is difficult to nail down exact amounts and timing of the snow, but we are very confident that Tuesday through Thursday will feature Arctic conditions of subzero wind chills and additional chances of light snow. As the storm draws closer we will be able to narrow down its potential impacts and keep you updated.
