Beautiful Sunday Before a Change

Good Sunday morning to y’all! Hope everyone has had a great start to the New Year, and is looking forward to the coming 51 weeks (we’re almost 1 week in)! We are looking at a beautiful Sunday before a change enters the forecast.

Sunny Sunday

Alliteration! What’s better to start off a forecast than that? Not much in my opinion.

It is a bit chilly as you head out this morning, with temperatures in the low and mid 30s region-wide. We are beneath beautiful, clear skies, so that explains the chill in the air.

Don’t expect those temps to last long, as we are looking at another unusually warm day ahead of us. With mostly sunny skies throughout the day, expect highs to get into the upper 50s and lower 60s.

It is looking nice this afternoon! Perfect for a walk in the park or just sitting outside. The sunshine and warmth is much needed today. h/t pivotalweather

High clouds will begin to fill into the region ahead of our next weather maker, but these won’t impact the forecast too much. Overnight, temperatures will hold fairly steady in the 40s because of the increase in clouds.

Mundane Monday

Tell me if you’ve heard this before: rain is in the forecast.

Yes, it is true. Rain is in the forecast again for your day on Monday. Luckily, we aren’t expecting any severe storms like last Monday, and we aren’t looking at widespread, all day rain.

So, that is nice! But it does look windy, again. You can expect mostly cloudy skies throughout the day, with breezy southerly winds. This will help highs rise into the mid 60s before the rain and and cold front approach.

The rain is looking to move into the region between 3 and 5 pm, and won’t even last too long. It largely appears like it will just be a band of showers.

Behind this cold front, not much changes. But, changes are coming on Tuesday.

Cold Shot Filters in on Tuesday

A secondary cold front is associated with the system that will be pushing to our north and northwest into southern Canada over the next several days.

The cold front will push through midday, and will usher in much cooler air. h/t COD Weather

This secondary cold front is what will knock us back to the cold reality of winter. Before that, breezy conditions will continue into the day on Tuesday, with gusts in the 20-25 mph range expected.

Depending on the timing of the cold front, we may be able to see our temperatures shoot into the upper 50s again. However, the cold front looks to push into the region during late morning hours, and we will see a quick wind shift.

I would expect partly sunny skies throughout the day, with temperatures falling from the upper 50s into the upper 40s by early evening.

From here, temperatures continue falling. Highs on Wednesday likely won’t get out of the upper 30s under partly sunny skies, and Thursday looks to be that chilly as well.
