Good morning everyone! We are half way through the week and the weekend is almost in sight. It is a good idea to bring your rain gear today, as we will have a rainy Wednesday before Fall arrives tomorrow.
Today
A strong cold front will be bringing chances for showers today, so don’t forget your rain gear. We can expect high temperatures to be in the lower 80’s this afternoon, with muggy dew points in the lower to mid 70’s.
Although there is not a threat for severe storms, a few rumbles of thunder will be possible later today. An isolated strong storm cannot be ruled out either. It is possible to get up to half an inch of rain today, so be mindful of road conditions and areas that flood often.
Tonight will bring the cold front passage, which will cause a wind shift. Winds will be out of the south-southeast today, helping to feed those high temperature.
Once the cold front approaches our area, winds will be out of the northwest, bringing that crisp fall air. We can finally say goodbye to summer.
Thursday
Tomorrow is the day we have all be waiting for. Finally, a relief from the hot and muggy weather. High temperatures will only be in the lower 60’s, with 5-10 mph winds out of the northwest thanks to the cold front that will push through tonight.
Tomorrow will be a perfect day to enjoy the great outdoors or drive around with the car windows down. Low temperatures for tomorrow night will drop to the low 40’s.
Friday
Friday will be another gorgeous day for South Central Kentucky. High temperatures will be in the lower 60’s and plenty of sunshine. This weather will be fantastic for the Harvest Festival in downtown Bowling Green Friday evening. Low temperatures for Friday night look to dip into the lower 40’s, perfect for a backyard bonfire.
