Feels Like Summer with a Chance of Pop Up Storms

Hey folks, we are going to hit the upper 80’s once again as it feels like summer with a chance of pop up storms today. So much for unpacking the jackets and hoodies last weekend.

These above average temperatures will combine with some moisture from a weak “cold” front to give us a chance for afternoon pop-up showers and storms.

No severe storms are expected with the storms today and tomorrow, but you could get a downpour if you are unlucky.

For reference, highs are usually in the mid 70’s by this time in October, so if you are a summer fan enjoy what will hopefully be summer’s last stand.

Through the middle of next week, the pattern of above average high temperatures will continue. However, we will have a better chance at getting some rain each day. Maybe it will not be too soggy, but that is hard to say at this point.

All these above average temperatures are due to a stubborn ridge over the eastern US and a cool trough in the west. The pattern looks to change next weekend...maybe. h/t pivotalwx
