Florence Approaches with Showery Weather

Good morning folks! I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend so far, and is looking ahead to the week. The main part of the forecast is that Florence approaches with shower weather, which means nicer weather than we have had.

Sunday and Monday Gloom

The remnants of Florence have finally begun to move out of southeastern North Carolina. Finally. She has sat there for nearly two whole days, and just dumped rainfall over the same spots.

It isn’t a good situation there. Luckily, we will completely avoid the flooding threat. That will be on the eastern side of the track of the storm.

You may notice cloud cover increasing pretty quickly this morning, and that is expected to continue over the next several hours. Clouds will lock us into some cooler temperatures the next couple of days.

Highs today are expected to be in the lower 80s (83ºF-84ºF) and in the upper 70s to around 80 tomorrow (79ºF-80ºF). This will be a nice change from the unchanging summer heat we seem to not be able to get rid of.

Additionally, expect showers to move through the region periodically. Nothing will be too heavy, but expect showers nonetheless.

Tuesday Temps Rise

Florence will begin to push on out of the region by Monday night. This will take the cloud cover and shower activity away from the region, and allow us to get back to the same ole.

A nice ridge will begin to build in again, and this will bring us back to feeling like summer. And that is no fun, as always.

Highs on Tuesday will end up in the mid 80s (86ºF-87ºF), and dewpoints will remain in the upper 60s. This will make outdoor activities uncomfortable, and have everyone wishing for Fall at this point.

Beyond Tuesday, this ridge will exert its will on the region, and we should see a return to the lower 90s by Thursday and Friday. A weak front may approach later in the week, bringing isolated storms as well.
