Storm Chances Return For Midweek

After a few dry but warm days, the pattern begins to shift today as we welcome tropical downpours back to the forecast as storm chances return for midweek.

Things Stay Scattered For Wednesday

We’ll get this rain party started today as yesterday’s ridge begins to break down and allow scattered showers and thunderstorms associated with a low pressure system to invade the area.

I’ve got low pressure to the left of me. High pressure to the right. Here I am: stuck in the middle with you. (WPC)

Things will stay mostly scattered today but anything that does develop, either earlier in the day or in the afternoon, will be a very efficient rainfall producer. A warm front gliding over the region will bring dew points back into the 70s, that means increased moisture content in the air and that means heavy rainfall.

Won’t look too different from this this afternoon. (Giphy)

Not everyone is guaranteed to see rain this afternoon but those that do will likely see a pretty good soaking.

Despite increased cloud cover, temperatures will still increase to near 90º for a high. Rain chances stay inflated through the evening and overnight hours where we only drop to around 70º for a low.

A Rather Drenched Thursday

If you like heavy rain, then boy do I have a deal for you!

The low pressure will certainly be exerting it’s force over the area by then and that means waves of showers and storms traversing the region like it were a soggy highway on the way to a beach vacation.

Temperatures won’t recover too much during the dry down times but they will make a run to around 87º, especially if you can make it longer without a shower or storm. We’re not looking at anything on the severe side but we are talking quite a bit of rainfall.

Waves of rain continue into the evening and overnight hours as we’ll only drop to a low of around 70º.

Broken Record Remains Broken Into Friday

Maybe not a broken record so much as a skipping CD.

That appears to be a copy of Windows 98, so broken records will be the least of your worries. (Giphy)

Waves of rain continue to finish off the week thanks to this stationary front and low pressure that don’t know quite when to say when.

Scattered showers and storms with heavy rainfall continue to be the theme into Friday afternoon under mostly cloudy skies. At the same time, temperatures will continue to hang down into the mid-80s. Unfortunately rain and storms are likely to continue not just into Friday night, but the weekend as well.

That just about does it for me! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotbg for the latest. Have a terrific Wednesday!
