Unwelcome Return to Spring Chill
We are back to the low 50’s, south-central Kentucky–an unwelcome return for sure. Expect the significant rain to end by noon. A cold front passed through our region last night after dropping some rain and our temperatures which will provide us a cold cloudy week start, warm up Tuesday.
Rain Exits Region by Noon Today
Between yesterday and this morning our region has received about an inch of rain on average. We will add to these totals this morning, so grab an umbrella and jacket before heading out.
Temperatures will sit in the mid-50’s all day under mostly cloudy skies. A few sprinkles or isolated showers are possible in the afternoon and evening.
Flurries in Mid-April?
There is a small chance some of us could see flurries on Monday morning as temperatures approach the freezing mark to start the day. It will remain overcast all day with some drizzle with a high in the mid-40’s. On top of all this, it will be windy, so it will feel even colder tomorrow.
Late Frost Tuesday Morning
Overnight Monday light northwest winds and mostly clear skies will give us the right conditions for a late frost with lows in the low 30’s. Throw a blanket over those plants that have already sprouted if you can.
Warm Up on Tuesday
A warm front cuts through our region on Tuesday afternoon giving us a high in the mid-60’s with no chance of rain and not much wind. After today and tomorrow’s chill, you may want to celebrate the warmth by heading outdoors to enjoy neature.
