Howdy, folks! Hope everyone has had a great start to this April workweek. I know that this forecast should help if you haven’t had a good start. I know we’re all sick of the cold, but Spring weather is just over the horizon!
Coolish Today
After this past weekend, nothing at this point is cold anymore. It has to get back into the 30s and 40s for it to be cold, and I think we’re gonna avoid that today.
As nice surface high pressure system is going to propagate into the region today, and keep us pretty cool for April standards.
We’re expecting partly cloudy skies for this afternoon, which should help to keep highs in the lower 50s. That, honestly, sounds terrible considering the forecast beyond today.
Again, expect another frost tonight, with lows falling into the lower 30s.
Major Warm up Expected
Oh man, what a sight for sore eyes that subheading is. I mean, I even know what I am writing and just seeing that typed out here is a relief.
I love winter for a variety of reasons, but I have really grown tired of cold and snow chances. The high pressure system bringing us chilly weather looks to move to our east, and shift the winds southerly on Wednesday.
This will help our highs to rise into the mid and upper 60s. Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected as well.
By Thursday, though, the warm up is in full effect. We will have partly cloudy skies, with highs rising into the upper 70s! This will also be associated with a strong southwesterly breeze, which helps warm us up quite a bit.
Winds look to be gusting in the 30 to 35 mph range on Thursday as a strong low pressure system develops on the Plains and moves towards us. I’m not complaining, especially if the winds are with warm air.
Friday looks even warmer, with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s expected. Clouds look to move in by Friday evening and night, as decaying thunderstorms push into the region ahead of a strong cold front.
Well, that’s all I have for today! Thanks for checking in, and be sure to follow @wxornotBG on social media for the latest on the forecast! Have a good day, folks!
