Cold to Cool Today

Hello south-central Kentucky, today will transition from cold to cool with a high in the low 50’s. Friday’s temperatures stay about the same before warmth and rain chances build in Saturday with our next weather system. This gives us a cool today and tomorrow, warmer and rainier Saturday.

Broken clouds will move across the skies today as high pressure centered to our west rotates in slightly warmer air than yesterday. This morning’s lows will start several degrees below freezing before climbing to near 50 with light winds and no chance of precipitation. This is still well below our average high of 62, but not bad considering earlier this week.

Cool Tomorrow

Tomorrow will start in the upper 30’s, but it will be much cloudier. Highs will once again reach near 50 making it feel like February 2nd instead of March 22nd.

Light winds will blow from the southeast and gradually increase our chance for rain showers over the course of the day. I think we will escape the rain until about sunset Friday which will mark the start of our next weather system.

Warmer and Rainier Saturday

Our next low pressure system moves through our region from tomorrow evening through Saturday. The best chances for rain looks to be late Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Saturday’s rain will feature a chance for thunderstorms, but no severe weather threat since there will not be enough wind shear which is an essential ingredient for severe storms.

Highs Saturday will reach the low 60’s before tumbling behind the evening cold front back into the 40’s. Also, all snow will stay far to our north in Indiana, so no worries there.
