Starting today, high pressure will move eastward allowing a weak, upper level ridge to move into its place. This will bring southerly winds to the region, making for a beautiful day with sunny skies and warm temperatures. Highs will be in the low to mid 50’s across south central Kentucky.

Overnight lows will remain cold for one more night, with temperatures in the low thirties across the region.

With southerly winds in full force, temperatures on Friday will be even warmer. Highs will be in the upper 50’s and sunshine galore, with some maybe even reaching 60 degrees! However, southerly winds open the door for Gulf moisture to transport into the region, increasing moisture content in the atmosphere. This means rain chances!

Rain chances will increase late Friday night into early Saturday morning, moving west to east, as a cold front advances across the state. Rain chances will ramp up throughout the day on Saturday, with rain showers ending early Sunday morning.
Winter Isn’t Over Yet
For Sunday, we will recover nicely with temperatures in the low 50’s under sunny skies. This won’t last long…..

Sunday night into Monday, an upper level disturbance will clip the Ohio Valley, sending a surge of Canadian air our way. For Monday and Tuesday, highs will be in the upper 30’s to low 40’s across the state. Temperatures look to rebound by the end of the week.
