Cold and BLEH the Next Several Days

First of all, with a high of only 32°F yesterday, Bowling Green tied for its coldest Christmas since 2004!

Today, tomorrow, and Thursday all look quite cold, as well. There really isn’t much else to this forecast. We’re sitting at the base of a deep trough, and that is the source of all this cold air.

We are right at the base of that trough, which is keeping us cold and cloudy. h/t University of Wyoming

On top of that, we have multiple pieces of weak energy passing through our region over the next several days. This will help to keep us locked into cloud cover; especially today.

Today looks to be the cloudiest of the next three days. We’re sitting under clouds now, and its looking like we’ll see clouds the rest of the day. We should only get into the low or mid 30s for highs, and don’t be surprised to see some flurries out there.

Tomorrow, the cold continues, but we look to get more sunshine. Partly to mostly sunny skies should be across the region until late in the afternoon when some high clouds look to move in. Look for highs only in the upper 20s.

Thursday is no doubt more of the same. Cold, partly cloudy, and just boring. We’re wasting so much good, solid cold air by not having snow, and it is really disappointing. Oh well! Highs should be in the mid 30s on Thursday.

Have a wonderful Tuesday, everyone! I know it is tough to get back to normal life after the craziness of Christmas, but it’ll all be good. Be sure to follow @wxornotBG on Twitter for the latest weather updates!
