Thankful for the Rain for Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

Ahh, the day before a nice rainfall. Yesterday had the classics of one! It became cloudy by the evening, and the temperature was warmer than the preceding days. The highs hit the upper 50s (Humble brag: I got the temp exactly right and I am very excited about that), and the excitement of Turkey on its way and rainfall was a lot to handle at once.

Discussion

For the first time in a couple months, I can tell you with a fair amount of certainty that this is not a boring forecast!

Also: there will be plenty of Thanksgiving gifs on the way this morning, so be excited about that! So why the title of the post? Well, the forecast for Bowling Green weather is calling for rainfall for much of the day, and that is something we haven’t seen in quite sometime. I am quite thankful for that!

This is being caused by a fairly progressive mid and upper level trough moving eastward today. This has force a larger area of fairly heavy rainfall that should move through the region this afternoon and evening. This is not a drought busting rainfall by any means, but it is gonna be nice. The WPC is anticipating 0.25″-0.50″ of precip across the region, and my forecast concurs with that.

The rainfall should move out by tonight, ushering in what will likely be some pretty terrible Thanksgiving weather, honestly. At least it won’t be raining across the region, but its gonna be cloudy and cool and nasty out. No matter; Turkey and macaroni and family and friends are all calling your name!

Be sure to remember to be Thankful on Thanksgiving. I know that the day can be a bit wild with everything that needs to be done, but there is so much to be thankful for, especially living in the country where we do. The weather may not look great, but that will just make the Thanksgiving nap that much better!

Temps will remain fairly normal (with respect to the average for this time of year) over the next couple of days, so don’t expect to get out of the 50s. By Friday, clouds will have finally cleared for what looks to be an insane Black Friday. There is a 100% chance of decent deals, but there is also a 100% of people pushing other people down for a new GoPro or something. What a day!
