Unseasonably Warm Bowling Green Weather Coming

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

As it has been recently, yesterday was just boring. It was mostly sunny, and cool and just not interesting at all. I’m sick of this. I would like some rain at some point, but I don’t know that we’ll be seeing significant rain anytime soon. *sighs*

Discussion

I feel like I have been in “Groundhog Day” for the past 3 or so months. I really don’t feel like there has been any forecast this semester that has been overtly interesting, and it is driving me crazy.

When was the last time we had a forecast that was interesting? It feels like 5 years ago, but was actually in July. That feels like forever ago for a variety of reasons. Still, though, is it too much to ask to get some interesting weather once in a while?

Such is life. I feel like this is a rant I have at the beginning of every discussion section, and I apologize for that. Anyways, the pattern over the next 3 days looks fairly simple and easy.

Clouds are present across the region in association with a trough of low pressure moving through this morning. This has produced widely scattered showers that haven’t really done much. After the clouds clear out later this morning and afternoon, the weather just gets more boring.

Between now and Friday, we will see a fairly major warming trend. A deep low pressure system will begin to develop across the western Plains states by tomorrow evening, and will begin to have an influence on our weather by tomorrow night.

Before that, tomorrow’s weather may be the most bland of them all. A weak surface high will keep it mostly sunny, and highs should just rise into the mid 60s. By Thursday, we will be firmly entrenched within the low pressure system’s warm sector, creating a major warm up. Highs by Thursday afternoon could be well into the mid 70s as southeasterly flow dominates across the region.

As a sneak peak towards the weekend: this low pressure system should move through Friday afternoon and evening, bringing rain, and a major cooldown. Highs by the weekend may not get out of the 40s. There is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding the weekend, so be sure to check in for updates!

Today’s Key Points

  • Another boring forecast
  • Highs jump from low 60s today to mid 70s Thursday
  • Major Warmth Thursday/Friday
  • Breezy Thursday/Friday
  • Showers/Storms possible Friday night
  • Major cool down this weekend
