Forecast Discussion

High pressure still dominant over the region will lead to more fantastic weather through the new week, with only a couple of speed bumps along the way.

Let’s start with today, that high pressure remains pretty much over top of us, allowing us to stay sunny and quite fall-like, especially compared with the record high temperatures of last week.

This high pressure system is going to dominate through the day on Monday as well, giving us nearly a carbon copy of Sunday to start off our new work week. More sun, more 70s, maximum comfort.

The only thing that might break up this monotony is a disturbance that will increase our cloudiness during the day on Election Day. That disturbance will drape a weak boundary over the region Tuesday evening into Tuesday night that might trigger a few light showers to enter the picture.

Hey, it’s not a lot but at this point we’ll take anything we can get. We’ve been dry for much too long, in fact we’ve slipped into a moderate drought across much of the state, causing many areas to institute burn bans, so yeah any drops in that rain gauge will help.

Extended Outlook

After the boundary clears out by Wednesday morning, it looks pretty much exactly the same as before but just a tad bit cooler. The models are hinting at a bit of a change in the weather pattern heading towards next week, however. I won’t go into too much detail since we’re pretty far out and things change but if it verifies, it’ll be some of the first real “late fall” temperatures we’ve seen in awhile.
