According to the National Weather Service, we have seen above-normal temperatures since the 14th of the month here in Bowling Green! That streak will not be ending anytime during the forecast period, either.

Upper-level ridging and southerly winds at the surface will push temperatures up to around the 80° mark, with plenty of sunshine in store. With temperatures about 10° above normal, today would be a great day to be outdoors and work on that tan.

Temperatures will remain mild overnight, with lows in the upper-50s.

Monday, April 25 – Mostly Sunny & Breezy – High 84˚ / Monday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 62˚

An eastward-moving low pressure system from the Great Plains will help tighten the temperature gradient at the surface, causing highs to continue to rise Monday. The upper-level ridge will also continue its influence over our region further contributing to this warm-up.

Winds at the surface will increase over the course of the day, with winds up to 20 mph and stronger gusts possible. Stout winds from the south/southwest will not only influence the increase in temperatures, but the dewpoints as well. This is due to the origins of the air being the Gulf of Mexico.

Overnight, low temperatures will remain in the low-60s, under partly cloudy skies.

Tuesday, April 26 – Partly Sunny; Sct’d Storms – High 82˚ / Tuesday Night – Sct’d Storms – Low 64˚

Temperatures will remain in the 80s on Tuesday, but an approaching front will change up the weather pattern a bit. Although the majority of the rain looks to be north of Bowling Green, closer to the Ohio River, some scattered showers and storms are possible here in south central Kentucky.

Conditions will start to feel very humid on Tuesday, as dew points hike up into the 60s. Clouds will also be more prevalent on Tuesday due to the increase of moisture in the atmosphere.

Overall, the heat will continue for the forecast period! Let’s hope all of the buildings on WKU’s campus have turned their air on by now.
