Real-time radar:
Today: Partly cloudy and hot. Highs near 90ºF. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 71ºF.
Welcome back to reality, everyone.
I hope the Labor day weekend was awesome, fun and safe for everyone. I was able to experience some awesome weather in north Georgia over the weekend. Here, the weather looks as if it was pretty awesome, but also hot. It’s like summer showed up to the party a little too late.
THis is the “unofficial” end to summer, and it went out with a scorcher. Highs this weekend were way over 90 all three days! Today, however, looks a little bit better. Signs of relief will be gradually making their appearance, as we’ll begin seeing partly cloudy skies dot the sky more.
Shouldn’t be a wash out by any means. Highs today will be around 90ºF today, so if you are walking to class, wear something that won’t make you sweat.
By the overnight hours, we will begin to finally be within sight of relief as a clod front will be inching closer. Lows will end up in the lower 70s.
Tomorrow: Clouds increasing, with afternoon storms. High around 86ºF. Wed. night: Storms exiting, with sweet relief coming. Lows around 69ºF.
Wednesday will be the metamorphosis of our weather. We will be leaving the heat cocoon that we are encased in currently, and entering a much more pleasant air mass.
First, though, we have to go through the storms. Showers and storms will likely dot the sky by the afternoon hours, as the cold front will near and fire ’em off. Highs ahead of this will end up in the mid 80s.
Once this cold front passes, we’ll all be able to breath a sigh of relief. Walking the hill in that kinda weather is dreadful.
By the overnight hours, the showers should be coming to an end, leaving us with partly to mostly cloudy skies and lows in the upper 60s.
Thursday: FINALLY feeling nice. Partly cloudy, with a high around 82ºF. Thur. night: Even nicer. Clear, with lows falling into the mid 60s.
Ahhhhh, Thursday is a day that I feel like I have waited for since it hit 85ºF again last week. I am so ready for some relief.
This day finally has it. We’ll likely be experiencing some partly cloudy skies, but that will be accompanied by temperatures in the lower 80s. How nice does that sound?
And overnight, it gets even nicer. Skies should clear out, with lows falling into the mid 60s.
Well, that’ll be it for this forecast! Have a good return to work, and remember to follow @WxOrNotBG on Twitter for the latest real-time weather updates.
