I wish I could celebrate my birthday with fireworks. Anyways, it has been a fun ride. You’ve provided us with the best topographic region in the world to study tornadoes, flooding, hurricanes, derechoes, blizzards, etc, etc, etc. You’ve been wonderful to us.

Anyways, the Fourth Of July holiday is looking at least marginally better than the past several days. Rain chances look to decrease at least a little bit, as the weak stationary front that has plagued us the past few days looks to migrate southward for the day. Even so, look for skies to be dotted with scattered showers and storms into the evening time.

This may have an impact on some fireworks, but we’re Americans. We got through tougher times than rain on the Fourth Of July! We can do it. Highs will be in the lower 80s for most in the region, making for an awesome day.

Overnight, there looks to be a 100% of good food and lots of smoke. No people, that isn’t fog. It’s smoke. Most likely at least. Looks for lows to bottom out in the mid and upper 60s, with some lingering showers and storms.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with isolated showers early. High of 79ºF. Sun. night: Clearing out. Low 0f 63ºF

Well Sunday looks like a fairly cruddy day, at least to begin. It’s looking like we’ll be stuck in clouds to start of, and isolated showers will be making their way through the region. This is due in large part to a weak upper level low meandering to our east during the day.

However, because this looks like it’ll be largely to our east by the afternoon/evening, we will likely see clearing take place gradually during the evening hours. Temps look to top out in the upper 70s, which is definitely a win in my book.

Overnight, we should see continual clearing with lows in the lower 60s.

Monday: Consistent sunshine (!!!!). Highs rising to around 87ºF. Mon. night: Increasing clouds. Lows around 73ºF.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let’s all take a breather here. We read that correctly. The SUN might come out for a little bit on Monday. What is the sun??

I’m just hoping that I remember its appearance. Anyways, Monday looks awesome. Highs look to end up in the upper 80s again under partly cloudy skies. This will be accompanied by somewhat of a southwesterly breeze across the region in relation to a low pressure moving east to our north.

Monday night will likely feature breeze and warm conditions, with clouds increasing ahead of the cold front. Lows in the lower 70s.

Hope the Fourth Of July is awesome for all of you. Eat lots of hot dogs and burgers, and I hope that wherever you are, you’re with the people that you’re closest to.
