Good morning, Bowling Green! Cooler than normal temperatures are going to continue today, as we barely reach 80° for the afternoon high. According to the National Weather Service, Bowling Green hit 78° for the high temperature yesterday, which is 11° cooler than the normal for this time of year. Many of us aren’t complaining though…
High pressure will allow us to stay dry and sunny today! With low humidity, mild temperatures, and sunny skies, this may be the best day in quite sometime – it definitely won’t feel like late June here in Bowling Green. Be sure to get out and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather while you can!
Temperatures tonight will fall into the low to mid-60s with clouds increasing overnight; chances for rain will arrive late and into the morning hours.
Monday, 6/29 – Partly Sunny; Sct’d Storms – High 85˚ / Monday Night – Showers & Storms – Low 69˚
Rain chances will pick up for the remainder of the forecast period as ripples of disturbances cycle through our atmosphere. Winds will shift southwesterly Monday as a low pressure system moves in from the northwest; this will allow for warmer temperatures as well as some gusty winds here in Bowling Green. Highs could reach the mid-80s in the afternoon, with wind gusts up to 25 mph.
Some early morning storms will make their way through the area, before more scattered activity picks up throughout the day. Our shower and storm chances down here in south central Kentucky will increase Monday night, with heavy rain possible overnight. Temperatures Monday night will remain in the upper-60s.
Tuesday, 6/30 – Showers and Storms – High 84˚ / Tuesday Night – Sct’d Storms – Low 67˚
Showers and storms will be sticking around Tuesday, thanks to another disturbance in the atmosphere. Instability could allow some of these storms to become strong, especially later in the evening. Otherwise, temperatures will be in the low to mid-80s under partly sunny skies.
