Today 5/10 – Scattered Showers & Thunderstorms – High 87˚ / Tonight – Iso’d Showers & Storms – Low 66˚

6am 64˚ –9am 75˚ – 12pm 82˚ – 3pm 86˚ – 6pm 81˚

Good morning, another warm and muggy day is expected today ahead of a trough to our west. Upper-level divergence will result in scattered showers and thunderstorms today with lightning and locally heavy downpours possible.

Precipitation chances will dissipate slightly overnight, but isolated showers and storms will still be possible with low temperatures only falling into the middle to upper 60s.

Monday 5/11 – Sct’d Strong to Severe Storms; Breezy – High 84˚ / Mon Night – Iso’d Showers & Storms ; Clearing Skies– Low 61˚

The threat for strong to severe storms exists tomorrow as a surface cold front is expected to push east across the state. Ahead of the front, southerly surface winds of 10-15 mph will advect warm and moist air into the region. Storms will fire along the front during the late afternoon hours and the best chance for severe weather will occur during this time frame.

Right now it looks like damaging winds and hail will be the main threats, with a few isolated tornadoes possible as well. As a result, the SPC has placed areas along and west of I-65 under an enhanced risk for severe storms.

Precipitation will exit to the east tomorrow night behind the cold front. Expect skies to gradually clear overnight with lows dropping into the lower 60s.

Tuesday 5/12 – Mostly Sunny – High 75˚ / Tue Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 52˚

Expect a cool off in temperatures behind the passage of the cold front on Tuesday with high temperatures only reaching the middle 70s. Surface high pressure will take over during the day resulting in a beautiful Tuesday.
