Skies will start off mostly clear today thanks to an are of surface high pressure to our south. Southerly winds will usher warmer temperatures and moisture into the region ahead of an upper-level trough to our west. Expect clouds to finally make their way into the region by this afternoon with high temperatures reaching the middle to upper 50s.

Skies will remain mostly cloudy tonight as a system to our southwest struggles to get its act together. A stray shower is possible overnight, but high pressure should help to keep rainfall south of the KY/TN border. Cloud cover will keep temperatures relatively mild overnight, with lows falling to around 40º.

Monday 3/9 – Iso’d PM Showers; Mostly Cloudy – High 55° / Mon Night – Sct’d Showers; Cloudy – Low 44°

As we get ready to start the work week tomorrow, a warm but wet day is in store. Skies will remain mostly cloudy tomorrow as an area of low pressure is expected to form far to our southwest. The upper-level trough out west will begin t move east and help to push this low to the northeast.

As the trough moves east, expect precipitation chances to ramp up ahead of the trough by tomorrow afternoon. Shower activity will be isolated as afternoon high temperatures reach the 50s once again under mostly cloudy skies.

Precipitation will become more widespread Monday night as low pressure continues to move northeast. Scattered showers are expected overnight, with the heaviest rainfall occurring after midnight. Up to 0.5″ of rainfall is expected by daybreak on Tuesday.

Tuesday 3/10 – Rain – High 54° / Tue Night – Iso’d Showers; Cloudy – Low 43°

Tuesday looks to be a wash out as low pressure tracks to our south ahead of an upper-level trough. Persistent rainfall is expected throughout the day with temperatures hovering in the lower 50s. Up to an inch of rainfall is possible on Tuesday, with 3-day totals from today until Wednesday morning approaching 1.5″.

Precipitation is expected to taper off Tuesday evening with rainfall ending after midnight. Clouds will be slow to clear, so temperatures will only drop into the lower 40s overnight. It looks like we will see a brief break in the rainfall on Wednesday before another system affects the region on Thursday and Friday.

That’s all I’ve got for this morning. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and be sure to keep up with @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter for real-time weather updates.
