Monday Morning Bowling Green Weather Update

Today 2/9 – Iso’d AM Showers; Cloudy; Breezy – High 43º / Tonight – Decreasing Clouds – Low 27º

6am 45º – 9am 43º – 12pm 41º – 3pm 39º – 6pm 35º

We are starting off the work week cool and rainy as a cold front pushed east across the state overnight. Behind the front we are currently seeing some leftover rain showers that will last until around noon today. Shower activity is very light so any additional precipitation accumulations will be less than 0.1″.

Temperatures are currently hovering in the lower 40s and this will be about as warm as it gets today. Surface winds have turned to the northwest behind the front and are helping to usher in a colder air mass.

Cloud cover will hang tough today and it looks like we will not see any clearing begin until this evening. Skies are expected to become mostly cloudy tonight as low temperatures drop into the upper 20s.

Tuesday 2/10 – Mostly Sunny – High 44º / Monday Night – Mostly Clear – Low 27º

Mostly clear skies will return to southern Kentucky tomorrow as the jet stream flow turns zonal across the central United States. Expect high temperatures to reach the lower to middle 40s tomorrow with lows falling into the upper 20s again overnight.

Wednesday 2/11 – Partly Cloudy – High 53º / Monday Night – Mostly Cloudy – Low 26º

Beautiful weather is expected on Wednesday as temperatures climb ahead of a weak area of low pressure in the Great Lakes region. Highs on Wednesday will be in the 50s under partly cloudy skies. Unfortunately, this brief warming trend will come to an end by Wednesday night as a cold front associated with the northern low will work southeast across the state Wednesday night.

It is looking like we will be too dry to see any precipitation along the front but we will certainly see winds turn to the north overnight as low temperatures fall into the 20s. This cold air mass will help set the stage for a chilly end of the work week.
