Sunshine and Warm Air are Back

The wonderful world of high pressure has settled into the southeast, which will allow sunny skies and warm air to fill south central Kentucky over the upcoming days.

Those rays of sunshine will join southerly winds of 5 to 10 mph today, resulting in afternoon highs topping out in the upper 40s.  The surface map below, valid for 6am this morning, illustrates high pressure located in the southeast:

Saturday – Mostly Sunny – High 58º / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 42º

We’ll be looking at temperatures near 60º by the time we get into Saturday afternoon! Not only will it be warm, but it will remain mostly sunny throughout the day. Get out and enjoy the weather!

Sunday – Chance for Showers – High 54º / Sun Night – Isolated Showers – Low 38º

But all good things must come to an end. By Sunday, temperatures will cool off a few degrees and clouds will fill in with the chance for a few showers. It won’t be an all day rain by any means, but isolates shower Sunday afternoon and night are a definite possibility. The NAM shows the possibility of light, scattered showers after lunch, with the heaviest (although still light) showers towards evening.
