New Year…Same Weather

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 1/1 – Mostly Cloudy – High 40° / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Isolated Showers – Low 33°

Happy New Year! Be sure to set some high goals for yourself. Well, at least higher than the temperatures will be today. We’ll be stuck with the relatively chilly temperatures once again today as we remain under the influence of northwest flow.

We’ll also be stuck back in some cloudy skies as the day progresses. Thus, we can only expect those highs to reach the low 40s throughout the day. A southwest wind around 10 mph will likely stick around throughout the day.

During the evening and overnight hours, a few isolated showers may develop as some moisture moves into the region. Lows will end up just around freezing.

Friday 1/2 – Mostly Cloudy; Late Showers – High 40° / Fri Night – Showers – Low 37°

Friday will bring some pretty dreary conditions. With the abundant moisture in the air, it shouldn’t be too hard to find a few showers in the region, especially later in the afternoon and the beginning of the evening. Highs will once again be around 40°. Wind speeds will pretty light around 5 mph.

Friday evening and overnight will bring a pretty good chance at rain. So, be sure to have that umbrella ready for use on Friday night. Lows will only drop off into the mid to upper 30s under pretty thick cloud cover.

Saturday 1/3 – Mostly Cloudy; Showers – High 59° / Sat Night – Showers – Low 46°

An area of low pressure will form to the south of the region on Saturday. This low pressure will move moisture over the region, overspreading the area with showers. So, it’s safe to say a soggy Saturday is in store. My reaction:

The low pressure will likely move to north, right over the area, or perhaps just west of the region. This will advect more moisture and warm temperatures into the region. Thus, some thunder may be possible. Highs will likely occur during the evening or perhaps late evening as temperatures increase. Highs will be right around 60°.

Showers will likely continue through the night with a low around 46°. It looks like temperatures may plunge on Sunday so stay tuned for more updates.
