ACC Championship Game Delayed by Fireworks

The ACC Championship Game for football was played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC tonight. The ACC decided to set off some pregame fireworks inside the stadium. Smoke from the fireworks stuck around longer than expected and actually delayed the start of tonight’s game.

Many stadiums set off fireworks before games and do not have this issue with smoke dispersion. Today’s weather in Charlotte is actually to blame for allowing the smoke to linger.

A cold front is helping to push lingering showers out of the Charlotte area, but the air mass is remaining moist as the temperature cools. As a result, Charlotte has seen foggy conditions and low clouds throughout the most of the day.
