Hurricane Cristobal
In rather disorganized fashion, Tropical Storm Cristobal was just upgraded to hurricane status by the NHC. Minimal central pressure was 990mb with max sustained winds at 75mph. Here are some recent satellite images showing its current state of disarray:

Not long ago we dealt with Hurricane Bertha, which was a storm that moved through a very similar area as Cristobal, and also was a very disorganized storm. But enough, in both cases to qualify for hurricane status, nonetheless. We’ll see how Hurricane Cristobal progresses over the coming days as it heads away from the US and out through the Atlantic.
