Bowling Green Weather: Friday Update

Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Radar:

Today 8/22 – Mostly Sunny & Hot – High 95° // Tonight – Mostly Clear – Low 76°

6am 73º – 9am 82º – 12pm 91º – 3pm 95º – 6pm 92º

Summer has decided that the saying, “better late than never”, is indeed becoming a reality for us in Bowling Green. A ridge of high pressure continues to build over the area and will allow for very warm and muggy conditions over the next few days.

The NWS in Louisville has us placed under a Heat Advisory from 1pm today until 5pm on Monday with highs expected in the mid 90s and heat indices into the 100-105 range.

Here’s the surface map for today at 1pm:

After sunset, conditions are expected to be otherwise calm and cooling off into the mid 70s. Not sure I’d call that cool for an overnight low though.

Saturday 8/23 – Mostly Sunny & Hot – High 96° // Saturday Night – Mostly Clear – Low 75°

The start of the weekend will be a continued story weather wise, hot and uncomfortable. Find ways to cool off if you have outdoor plans. Highs mid 90s with triple digit heat indices are expected, precipitation to be no relief it appears. The pets may not even want to go out for their walk over the weekend.

Some relief will come as the sun goes down,  temps will fall to just above the dewpoint, around 75 or so, with calm conditions.

Sunday 8/24 – Mostly Sunny & Hot – High 94° // Sunday Night – Mostly Clear – Low 74°

A three-peat for Sunday’s weather, another hot, humid day is expected. For now though, guidance is hinting at isolated showers and storms which may help cool us off in the afternoon, if we’re lucky enough to see one. Free lawn watering will be included in the surprise as well. Expect mid 90s with triple digit heat indices throughout the day under mostly sunny skies.

Another warm evening followed by temps falling into the low and mid 70s overnight. Should be calm otherwise as we prepare for at least one more warm day on Monday. Wish I had better news, but remember, its still summer and it could be worse!

That sums it up for now, folks. Be sure to stay up to date with all your real time Bowling Green weather info @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter. Have a great Friday!
