Saturday Weather Update

Real-time Radar:

Today 7/19– Mostly Cloudy/Chance of Rain – High 75° / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy/Slight Chance of Rain – Low 67°

6am 63º – 9am 67º – 12pm 72º – 3pm 75º – 6pm 74º

Yesterday’s cool temperatures will be a continued trend into today with the exception that they are expected to be a bit warmer. Bowling Green had a high of 71 on Friday, which occurred around 9:20am local time. Rain cooled air and thick cloud cover kept us in the upper 60s the rest of the day. Hopefully today it will warm up a bit, but precipitation is expected off and on all day long.  Expect highs in the mid 70s across the area.

Generally speaking, most rainfall should occur early on and diminish later into the day. Here’s a surface map for today at 1pm:

This evening and tonight, isolated areas of rain will linger across the region with lows falling into the upper 60s. Patchy fog is possible.

Sunday 7/20– Mostly Cloudy/Slight Chance of Rain – High 83° / Sunday Night – Mostly Cloudy/Slight Chance of Rain – Low 69°

Sunday will be our first step back into normalcy as the sun may start to peak back into the sky and warm us up a bit. What better day than Sunday for the sun to return right? The problem is that this system is taking it’s sweet time moving out of the area, cloud cover will still be an issue and isolated areas of rain will still affect the region. Expect highs in the low 80s, however, make the best of the day.

Sunday evening and night will be comfortable with lows falling into the low 60s and 70 degree area, expect lingering sprinkles across the region.

Monday 7/21– Partly Cloudy/Iso’d Showers – High 88° / Monday Night – Partly Cloudy– Low 70°

The start of the work week will bring warmer temperatures and more isolated than scattered chances for precipitation, all good news to my ears. Easterly and southeasterly flow will help to warm us up a bit, with the sun showing it’s smiling face a bit more as well. Upper level winds are still a bit confused with what they want to do, but for the most part, high pressure to our northeast will get us back into more typical summer conditions.

Expect highs into the upper 80s with an isolated shower. Here’s a map valid for 4pm displaying warming temperatures:

Monday evening and night relatively calm and quiet. Partly cloudy and lows around 70, news for the forecast generally getting better with time. Nice.
