Today 6/25 – Partly Cloudy, Iso’d PM Storm – High 86° / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 66°
Today, we’ll see a cold front push through the region in the morning hours. This will take all of the moisture with it as we’ll see drier air filter into the region behind the front.
Current thinking is that we could see a few morning showers, but these should depart as the front leaves the region. Because of the cold front, we should only see temperatures reach the mid 80s today. I know, I’m just as shocked as you are…
As night begins to fall across the region, expect partly cloudy skies. I still don’t think we’ll see any rain due to a strong cap present over the region. Although unlikely, I’ll keep a mention of a stray storm this afternoon in the forecast. Lows will fall back into the mid to upper 60s.
Thursday 6/26 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 88° / Thur Night – Isolated Thunderstorms – Low 70°
On Thursday, we’ll see the mid level troughing that kept the area dry on Wednesday break down a bit. With high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s, and a rather moist environment in place, isolated thunderstorms seem like a pretty good bet to me. Thus, we’ll add a slight chance of some pop up thunderstorms here in there, however coverage may be a bit limited due to weak upper level support.
Isolated thunderstorms may continue into the night as a frontal boundary sits just to the south of the region. However, coverage of thunderstorms should remain limited. Expect lows to drop down into the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Friday 6/27 – Scattered Thunderstorms – High 87° / Fri Night – Isolated Thunderstorms – Low 71°
Friday will bring another chance of thunderstorms to the region. A more robust trough will enter the western United States on Friday. This will place low pressure system to the west of our region and an attendant warm front will lift north out of the region through the day. This will enhance lift over the region, causing more widespread thunderstorms to develop.
As the sun sets across the region, expect to see thunderstorms die off a bit as they lose energy from the loss of sunlight. A few thunderstorms will remain possible, however not as widespread. Lows will only cool off into the upper 70s.
