Good morning and afternoon everyone. The weather for today is looking like another spectacular day. High pressure is drifting eastward from the Great Lakes region and is allowing for a wind shift from the south which will support the inflow of warmer, moister air from the Gulf. Todays highs will be in the mid and upper 80’s across the region as suggested by model guidance. Dewpoints will be on the increase with will aid more cloud cover as well.

The graphic below is for 1pm and displays the high pressure east and the storm system to our northwest which is wedging southerly flow over our area:

Monday 6/16 – Mostly Sunny – High 87º / Monday Night – Partly Cloudy– Low 70º

Monday will be another warm and humid day across the region with high temperatures into the mid and upper 80’s and dewpoints near 70 degrees. Mostly sunny skies will allow the sun and moisture to make it feel warmer with heat indices in the low 90’s.

The southwesterly wind component will continue with winds 5-10 mph. Overnight hours will be relatively calm with lows near 70 degrees. Patchy fog is possible. Overall, Monday is looking good for the start to the work week.

Tuesday 6/17 – Mostly Sunny – High 88º / Monday Night – Partly Cloudy– Low 70º

If you like the weather on Monday, you’ll like the weather on Tuesday. Short and simple.  High pressure will continue drift east and settle off the east coast which will continue to support southwesterly winds and another warm and humid day. Temperatures may be a tick higher with highs in the upper 80’s. Expect heat indices to again be in the low 90’s in areas with the most sun.

Expect clear to mostly sunny skies but a stray shower here and there can’t be ruled out with the available afternoon heat and moisture. Overnight lows near 70 degrees and patchy fog possible in the morning. Again, not too bad, just warm. Hello summer.
