Good afternoon, the cold front that spread clouds and rain across the area earlier today has passed east and left clear skies in its wake. Temperatures have made it into the upper 60s currently and we’ll see most locations top out around 70 degrees today. Best part is, nice weather this afternoon will continue into the weekend. Homer is pretty pumped..

Sat – Sunny – High 81˚ / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 47˚

There isn’t much to talk about for Saturday, as things will be very calm. A pretty stout upper level ridge will keep us dry and warm on Saturday with high temperatures reaching near 80 degrees and lows in the 50s. You might need some sunglasses for those outdoor plans, just be careful…

Sun – Sunny – High 84˚ / Sun Night – Scat’d Showers & Storms – Low 61˚

Beautiful weather will continue into Sunday, but we will see a chance for some showers and storms  Sunday night as an area of low pressure to our west slides to our north. During the day, we will be in the warm sector of the system and southerly winds will accompany temps in the lower 80s.

We will see an increase clouds by Sunday evening ahead of the precipitation. Here is a look at the latest run of the 4km NAM model showing some showers and storms moving east across Kentucky at 1am Monday morning:

Rounds of rain and storms will continue through the early part of the work week and the Storm Prediction has included south central Kentucky in their long term convective outlook for Monday and Tuesday.

Severe weather is certainly possible with these storms, but multiple rounds of storms will be moving through, so it is still too early to get specific with timing and threats. Be sure to stay updated with the forecast this weekend to get the latest on the early week severe weather potential.

That’s all I’ve got for this afternoon, keep up with @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter this for more frequent updates. Enjoy your weekend.
