This Afternoon – Sunny & Mild – High 56˚ / Tonight – Clear – Low 35˚

3pm 55˚ – 6pm 54˚ – 9pm 47˚ – 12am 44˚ – 3am 40˚ – 6am 35˚

Things are pretty quiet across southern Kentucky this afternoon. Temperatures are running a little cooler than expected with high temperatures in the middle 50s, but a beautiful afternoon is underway. An area of high pressure to our northeast is responsible for today’s nice weather. Check out the latest satellite imagery showing clear skies for much of the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys.

Skies will be clear tonight, which will allow for cold temperatures to move in once again. Don’t worry, it looks like we will stay above freezing, but temperatures will still drop into the middle 30s, which will make it feel pretty chilly.

Thu – Sunny & NICE– High 67˚ / Thu Night – Iso’d Showers Late – Low 46˚

The area of high pressure will move off to the northeast tomorrow, allowing winds to turn out of the south. This will make conditions warmer than today, as highs look to be in the middle to upper 60s under clear skies. Great weather to ditch technology and spend some time outdoors.

We’ll see clouds increase tomorrow night ahead of an upper level disturbance that will bring us our next chance for rain. Isolated showers will make their way into the area after midnight. Not everyone will see rain, and those that do will only see very light rainfall.

Fri – Scat’d Showers & Storms – High 66˚ / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 46˚

Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue Friday morning into the afternoon. Precipitation will remain widely scattered and amounts look light.  Here is a look at a map from the WPC which shows areas in south central Kentucky getting less than 0.1″ of rain.

The showers should be out of the area by Friday evening. Behind this system, skies will become partly cloudy and lows will drop into the middle 40s overnight.

Many of you all may have plans for the upcoming Easter Weekend, and the good news for any outdoor plans is that the weather looks perfect. Skies will be mostly clear with high temps around 70 degrees on Saturday & Sunday. Our next chance of rain looks to hold off until late Sunday night.

That’s all I’ve got for this afternoon. Enjoy the quiet weather over the next few days.  For more frequent updates you can check out @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter.
