Barney is excited… you should be, too.

Plenty of sunshine will join light, northerly winds.  Outside of that, there’s really nothing to discuss.  Here’s a look at the surface conditions as of 6am:

Surface Model Valid 6am

Thu – Sunny & Breezy – High 75˚ / Thu Night – Increasing Clouds – Low 54˚

High pressure will scoot off to our east, as a cold front approaches from our northwest.  This will create a tightening pressure gradient across the area, resulting in southerly winds of 15-30mph.

Although the winds may be somewhat of a nuisance, they’ll coincide with ample sunshine to take highs into the mid 70s.  Outside of the swift breezes, it should be a wonderful day to enjoy the outdoors.

The cold front will close in on Thursday night, thus resulting in increasing clouds across south central Kentucky.

Fri – Scat’d Showers & Storms  – High 71˚ / Fri Night – Scat’d Showers & Storms – Low 54˚

Cold front will stall out just north of the area, as an upper level wave passes overhead.  This will result in isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms.

As of right now, it looks like those located along the Ohio River will have the best chance at seeing the wet stuff, however, we can’t rule out some activity here.  The following GFS Precip model is valid for 1pm Friday, and paints depleted moisture across our proximity:
