Scattered snow showers continue to pester south central Kentucky, and this should continue until we get into the afternoon. A low pressure system to our southeast will continue to advance east/northeast into North Carolina/Virginia, taking lingering areas of frozen precipitation on its backside along with it. Take a look at the current surface model for a better idea of what’s taking shape:
Additional accumulations of a dusting – 2″ will be possible on top of the 3-6+” already on the ground across south central Kentucky, as the last of the activity tracks through. Expect conditions to improve slightly as the day progresses, with a few rays of sunshine not out of the question as we get later into the afternoon.
Travel conditions are ATROCIOUS across the coverage area, and will remain that way, as high temps struggle to reach the mid 20s today. If you don’t have a legitimate reason to travel…DON’T. Have a look for yourself at what’s going on in around the area:

Huge volume of motorists assists. Local law enforcement have been pushing cars out of roads. Constant scanner traffic of stranded motorists.
