Monday Afternoon Update

Peace out, Monday...
Peace out, Monday…

This Afternoon – Decreasing Clouds – High 65 / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 45

4pm 65 ~ 7pm 58 ~ 10pm 55 ~ 1am 48 ~ 4am 46

A weak surface front is tracking east out of the area, taking leftover moisture along with it. This should result in decreasing clouds through the afternoon, with partly cloudy skies in place for the overnight. Current frontal positions and visible satellite provided on the model below:

Tues – Partly Sunny, Iso’d Showers – High 68 / Tues Night – Iso’d Showers – Low 56

7am 46 ~ 10am 55 ~ 1pm 64 ~ 4pm 68 ~ 7pm 60

**Dense Fog Advisory 3am – 9am**

Warm front will initiate and track north across the area late in the day, which will create an environment conducive for isolated showers to develop during the afternoon.  A stray storm or two will also be possible.  The vast majority of us should enjoy partly sunny skies.  The best chance at us seeing the wet stuff won’t arrive until the overnight, then taper of throughout the early part of Wednesday.  No severe weather expected.

Wed – Partly Sunny – High 78 / Wed Night – Scat’d Showers – Low 59

7am 58 ~ 10am 67 ~ 1pm 74 ~ 4pm 78 ~ 7pm 62

Warm front will be located to our north, as an associated low pressure system begins to advance toward the Great Lakes. Isolated showers and storms will remain possible on Wednesday night as a result, otherwise, partly sunny. Again, severe weather is not expected.

As well advertised, I’m continuing to keep a very close eye on Halloween (Thursday), as it looks like a strong weather maker will have the potential to evolve across south central Kentucky. A potent cold front looks to advance west to east across our proximity.

With the parameters in place, the potential for a few strong, possibly severe, thunderstorms will exist. Shear and moisture are present, however, a lack of instability could inhibit the activity. Above is the latest SPC convective outlook for Thursday. It includes our entire area in the long range outlook for potential severe weather. Nothing is for sure, but we will need to watch this one closely.

That will be all for now, gang. I’ll be back tomorrow morning with another forecast analysis. Enjoy what’s left of your Monday!
