Wednesday Afternoon Update

May I recommend "chilly" tonight?? ...see what I did there?

This Afternoon – Scat’d Showers – High 63 / Tonight – Iso’d Showers – Low 48

4pm 63 ~ 7pm 58 ~ 10pm 56 ~ 1am 54

Cold front has passed to our east, which will cause our temperature values to plummet as the day progresses.  Again…a hoodie is warranted, but DO NOT go buy milk and bread.  Leftover moisture will keep partly to mostly cloudy skies intact, along with isolated – scattered showers through the afternoon and tonight.

The model below displays current frontal positions and the temperature gradient across our region.  Compare the temp difference on either side of the front (60s in the east, 50s in the west):

Thu – Partly Sunny, Iso’d Showers – High 62 / Thu Night – Mostly Clear – Low 42

7am 45 ~ 10am 56 ~ 1pm 60 ~ 4pm 62

A weak disturbance will keep an isolated shower or two in the forecast, with the majority of us remaining dry, under partly sunny skies.  Highs will limp to around 60 degrees.  Keep the warm clothes out, friends, fall is officially here.  Clear skies and calm winds overnight may give us a touch of light frost.  All of you plant lovers take note.

Fri – Partly Sunny – High 66 / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 45

Light westerly winds will keep a cool feel to the air, as rays of sunshine return to the forecast. Our cool pattern looks to continue on Friday, as well as the weekend, with highs remaining limited to the 60s.

That will be all for the afternoon update, friends. I’ll be back bright and early tomorrow morning with another update on our weather pattern.
