It’s FRIDAY… get down withya’ bad self.

Friday – Partly Sunny, PM Showers/Storms Likely – High of 83

Cold front approaching from our northwest will coincide with a warm, humid airmass over our region to fire off scattered showers and storms today.

Widespread severe weather is not expected, however, a few cells could meet severe criteria.  The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) convective outlook for today suggests a 5% chance of severe weather within 25 miles of any given location:

Main threats with any convection that develops will be strong winds, frequent lightning and torrential rain.  High school football fans beware…it could be a damp one tonight.

Rainfall amounts still look to range close to 1″ before this system moves out tomorrow.  The QPF model below is valid through 7am Saturday.  The majority of precip should fall this afternoon through late tonight:

Saturday – Isolated AM Showers/Storms, Gradual PM Clearing – High of 76

Lingering showers and storms will plague the beginning of the weekend, with gradual clearing expected through the afternoon, as the cold front works to our east.  The sooner this boundary moves out, the nicer our conditions will become.  The NAM HiRes simulated radar has the activity out of our proximity by 1pm Saturday afternoon:

Sunday – Sunny & NICE – High of 73

High pressure will build in behind the front, as a much cooler, drier airmass settles across our proximity.  Activity will be nonexistent, with plenty of sunshine to accompany highs in the lower 70s across the region.  ENJOY!

That’s all I’ve got for right now, folks.  I’ll return when necessary to update you on our conditions.  Remember, for more frequent information, connect with me via Facebook and Twitter.  Enjoy your day, and thanks for reading.
