Happy Saturday, folks! We have made it to the weekend and it looks like the first part of it is going to feature some rain chances. Parts of the area had quite a bit of rain yesterday and we could see more today as scattered storms stick around.
Pop-up Showers and Storms Today
We have had some activity move through during the overnight hours with more rain expected later today. The
Temperatures this afternoon will close in on 80 degrees especially if we get peeks of sun. Rain chances this afternoon will be 50-60% staying mostly scattered across the area. We drop to 66 degrees tonight while drying out.
We are looking at drier conditions as head towards the latter portion of the weekend. Temperatures start slowly rising into the mid to upper 80s on Sunday. We will still have to keep an eye out for isolated storms with chances around 20-30%.
Drier Beginning of the Week
We start to return to a more summer-like pattern as temperatures heat back up close to 90. Sunny skies look to be with us on our Monday and Tuesday.
A Look at the Tropics
We are tracking two Tropical Cyclones right now in the Atlantic with the names Laura and Marco. These storms will both have U.S. impacts but where and how severe is the question.
Tropical Storm Marco
Tropical Storm Marco is expected to track out of the Caribbean Sea and into the Gulf of Mexico this weekend. This storm is forecasted to stay a tropical storm up to landfall. Marco will likely be fighting a bit of wind shear so this storm will have a tough time rapidly organizing. Exact intensity and track are still subject to change so stay tuned.
Tropical Storm Laura
Tropical Storm Laura is expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico while Marco is making landfall in Texas. This storm will be right on its heels so some locations along the Gulf Coast may see a dual-threat from both storms. Laura is forecasted to become a Category 1 Hurricane over the GOM. This storm will have a better chance of gaining strength as it won’t have shear to combat. Again, the exact intensity and track will be subject to change so stay tuned.
That will wrap things up for your Saturday. Enjoy your day, folks! Don’t forget to follow us: (Twitter / Facebook / Instagram).
