Good morning, South-Central Kentucky! Your Thursday will feel very similar to the past few days as warm and muggy conditions persist with more scattered showers and storms, with a slight cool down in store for this weekend.
Showers Possible Today
As has been a common sight across the Commonwealth lately, afternoon shower chances will yet again persist with the daytime heating in the afternoon. The primary threat with these showers will be heavy rainfall, leading to the potential for localized flooding where these cells develop.
Thursday should not be a washout, as rain chances don’t increase until the afternoon hours. Dew points in the upper 60s will make it feel uncomfortably muggy outside as highs top out around 80 degrees. Keep an umbrella handy if you are out and about, just in case you get caught under one of these showers!
Cooler Temperatures Ahead
Sweet Relief! As a frontal boundary passes through the region late in the day on Friday, rain chances yet again increase, but with a slight cool down and less humidity to follow on Saturday. Afternoon highs both Saturday and Sunday will be in the mid to upper 70s area-wide. Dew points will likely drop to more comfortable 50 degree values. A nice weekend looks to be in store for WABBLES!
Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend, the weather looks to be fair. Rain and storm chances Friday will give way to mostly sunny skies for Saturday and Sunday. With the slight cool down and drop in humidity, why not get outside and enjoy those outdoor plans?
