Good morning, folks! Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend thus far, and is prepping for the upcoming week. We’re looking at another day of storms before a brief break arrives to start the week.
Stormy/Rainy Sunday
This is pretty much a rinse and repeat forecast from the previous few days.
We have a slooooow moving upper level low and surface low across the region. They are working with a very moist environment, and are forcing showers/storms with heavy rain on a daily basis. They’re already going now!
So, expect similar conditions to the past few days. Mostly cloudy skies, with any significant amounts of sun making it unbearable outside. Highs should be in the upper 70s and maaaay touch 80.
Expect scattered storms. There really is no way to know whether or not your exact house will get rain or not. It is one of those set ups where you may get rain and you friend 1.5 miles away has none.
Coverage will wax and wane with peak heating today, so expect these storms to dissipate after dark.
Looking Nicer to Start the Week
Currently, there is a pretty solid cold front marching southeastward across the central Plains.
This is forcing severe storms and other shenanigans (cold temperatures), and it is heading our way! If you have hated the weather recently, I have good news for you: the cold front should shift us into a different pattern.
Temperatures are well below normal behind the front, and it is strong enough to shift the surface low and associated mid/upper level system out of our region, lowering storm chances.
I still think there is a good shot we see some scattered activity during Monday afternoon, but after the cold front comes through? Humidity drops and storm chances drop.
Highs Monday should be in the upper 70s to around 80 under mostly cloudy skies that clear during the afternoon.
Terrific Tuesday
Tuesday looks wonderful! Low humidity and mostly sunny skies for much of the day will really lead to the ideal weather.
Expect some high clouds in the afternoon, but otherwise, a pretty strong surface high will settle into the region and help keep us quite pleasant. Highs look to land in the upper 70s. There isn’t much else to say! It just looks beautiful.
It doesn’t look to last long at all, as a strong system digs into the Ohio Valley and looks to bring more rain/storm chances to the region on Wednesday/Thursday.
We have plenty of time to watch that, but it doesn’t look like strong-severe storms are likely at all.
Well, that is all I have folks! Have a wonderful Sunday, and be sure to follow @wxornotBG on Facebook and Twitter for the latest info.
