Good morning and happy Monday to all! I hope you all had a terrific weekend and are ready for the week. We will have partly sunny skies then strong storms to follow by the end of the week.
Currently…
Temperatures are in the low-50s and the skies are mostly cloudy. Winds are starting out right around 5 mph.
Hot Temps & Partly Sunny Skies
We will have a major warm-up this week with temperatures in the mid-80s and some clouds in the sky. A high-pressure will be settling over the area and strong winds with gusts around 20 mph are expected. The low temperatures will drop into the low-60s. Dew point temperatures will also rise into the mid-60s which will make the air a tad more humid than we’re used to.
High pressure systems spin in the counter clockwise direction, but the air also spins toward the ground and away from the center. This causes the air to subside and stabilize. All of this air movement from a high pressure system can be described as divergence.
Storms Expected Thursday Morning
After the heat and sunshine for most of the week, a stormy system is expected to pass through early Thursday morning. Thunderstorms are expected to last throughout the day and into the night, as well. Temperatures will stay in the high-70s to low-80s on Thursday.
The weekend will head back into the partly sunny pattern with temperatures dropping into the 70s. Well, that is all I have for today. Partly sunny skies and hot temperatures to start out the week, then storm chances starting early Thursday morning.
Have a great week and check back tomorrow for an update on the weather and the expectations for this upcoming system.
