Good morning, friends. I hope you all were able to stay dry yesterday. More rain is in the forecast for our weekend. Expect a soggy Saturday today, but luckily sunshine is on the way. Find out when below:
Saturday Saturation
A low pressure system is moving along just to our south, which will continue to bring rain through today.
Winds will quickly be shifting from different directions as the low passes. The HRRR model predicts the surface low to track right over us by noon today.
Winds will remain light today, as temperatures will hit the mid 50’s by the afternoon hours. Rain chances decrease later in the day as the low moves out of the area, but clouds will remain.
The ground is well saturated, so the main impact is ponding on the roadways and areas that have poor drainage systems. Low temperatures for tonight dip to the upper 30’s, but should be dry.
Clouds Linger on Sunday
Clouds will hang around tomorrow as the back end of the low pressure system moves out. Conditions will remain dry and mild.
Although cloudy, tomorrow will be a fairly nice day. Winds will remain light, and temperatures look to top out in the upper 40s to low 50s; not bad for this time of year.
By tomorrow night, clouds look to move out and stars will shine. Temperatures overnight will be slightly cooler thanks to the clear skies. We can expect low 30s across the region.
Sunny Start to the New Week
A high pressure system will be infiltrating our area on Monday, which will set up a beautiful start to the week.
With the sun shining brightly, temperatures will hit the low 50’s once again. We really can’t ask for better weather.
Winds will remain light throughout the day and into the night. Low temperatures will be a bit more chilly. Expect overnight temperatures to be in the upper 20’s. With light winds, some patchy fog may be possible Monday night into Tuesday morning.
That wraps up today’s forecast. Hope you have a great Saturday and rest of the weekend! Make sure to follow @wxornotBG on Facebook and Twitter for weather/forecast updates.
