Summer-Like Trend Persists

Good morning to you! If you’ve been loving the weather that we’ve had so far this week, you’re going to love today’s post even more. In other words, the summer-like trend of plentiful sunshine and hot temperatures will stick around for the rest of the work week.

A Taste of Summer

For the remainder of the work week, we will continue to have a repetitive forecast thanks to high pressure lingering in our region of the country. That means we have more sunshine in store for us. If you haven’t had the chance to already, get outdoors!

As we progress to the weekend, both temperatures and dew points will be on the rise. Today, our high will reach the lower 80’s, but by Friday, our high will top out in the lower 90’s. Likewise, humidity will be mild today, but become oppressive by the end of the work week.

As always, the combination of both clear skies and hot temperatures bring about the concern for harmful sunlight exposure. We look to reach extreme UV indices as we close out the work week. If you plan to spend time outdoors, make sure to have sunblock (15+ SPF), protective clothing and accessories, and water at hand.

Chances of Precipitation Return This Weekend

At the very start of the weekend, the dry spell of the work week will come to an end. A low pressure system will move eastward over our neighboring country, allowing for the passage of a cold front over our community. Thus, we will have the return of shower and storm chances to our forecast.

Moreover, chances will remain scattered by day and isolated by night, with precipitation being light. At most, counties in our community may see up to a quarter of an inch of rainfall total. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have an umbrella handy if you’re out and about this weekend!
