Good morning, everyone! If you haven’t caught onto the trend, today will get you on track. Once again, chances of showers and storms will be overbearing with threats for heavy rainfall and lightning. What a shocker, right? (Not.)
What to Expect Today
As we’ve seen so far this week, the forecast will be bombarded with scattered showers and storms thanks to a pesky low pressure system off to our west. This morning, we may have a few pass through our eastern counties, but these will pick back up in the evening. Our main threats will be brief torrential rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds.
As of now, the Weather Prediction Center has us under a slight risk for excessive rainfall. This means that scattered flash floods will be possible across the community, with a high likelihood of isolated significant flash flooding. Areas that will be most vulnerable are urban areas, roadways, and small streams. Drive safe today!
Thanks to the presence of thunderstorms, the oppressive humidity that we will have will be as expected. On top of that, temperatures will be hot with our high reaching the lower 80’s. This combination makes for easy dehydration, so make sure that you have a bottle of water handy with your umbrella in preparation!
A Glimpse at Tomorrow
As expected, the story is similar for tomorrow. We will have chances of showers and storms starting around noon, then turning more widespread into the evening. Moreover, hot and humid conditions will be in the same ballpark as what we have in store for us today.
Trend Carries on Into the Weekend
Much to our dismay, this trend will stick around into and through the weekend. The threats for lightning and brief, locally heavy rainfall that could result in flash flooding will be relevant for this period. Remember, if you come across a body of water on the roadways, turn around, don’t drown!
That’ll do it for today! Thank you for reading! For more, follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram!
