Good morning, everyone! Don’t let the title get you down! In today’s post, we will look at the main threats for today, the clearing that is to come tomorrow, and the dry end to the work week that we get to look forward to!
A Gloomy Day Ahead
Today, a disturbance will be propagating towards our region to stir up shower and storm chances for the entirety of the day. If you commute to work, chances are roads will be slippery, so make sure to give yourself enough time and take it slow. For, the brunt of the precipitation will take place from this morning to noon.
As of now, the Storm Prediction Center has our entire community within a marginal risk for severe weather. Our main threats will be locally heavy rainfall, isolated strong winds, and cloud to ground lightning. As shown below, gusts are to pick up in the morning, so be cautious of this as well when on the road.
If you spend any time outdoors today, it will be miserable. With the combination of overbearing cloud cover, above average temperatures, and oppressive humidity, you will be wanting to stay within the comfort of your workplace or household. Don’t forget to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Gradual Clearing Tomorrow
Tomorrow, the prominence of shower and storm chances will be highest in the morning. As we move into the following weekday, these will dwindle away. Fortunately, this round of precipitation will not even come close to what we have in store for us today, at most producing a tenth of an inch of rainfall.
Work Week Ends on a Dry Note
By Friday, we will once more have high pressure moving into our region, offering a break from the trend of gloom. We can’t rule out an isolated shower or storm in the morning, but the remainder of the day will be disturbance-free. With the sunshine, we will have a very high UV index of 9, so make sure to be prepared if you plan on spending time outdoors.
