Good morning to you! We hope that you have a fun Memorial Day weekend planned! If not, you may want to, as the outlook is looking favorable for outdoor activities!
Dry With Below Average Temperatures
For this Memorial Day weekend, we will have high pressure entering and dominating our region. As low pressure moves out, we can’t rule out a stray shower early this morning. Nonetheless, chances for precipitation will remain out of the picture for the remainder of the holiday weekend.
For the next three days, temperatures will gradually rise, despite being below average. With each day, the high will outshow the last with values peaking in the 60’s on Saturday, the 70’s on Sunday, and the 80’s on Memorial Day. Likewise, the low’s will start out cool in the upper 40’s and rise to the upper 50’s the night of the holiday.
Plentiful Sunshine Promotes Dangerous UV Indices
Thanks to the abundance of high pressure, we will have our fair share of sunshine as we approach Memorial Day. Today, cloud cover will be most prominent, if not overbearing. Tonight, clouds will start to decrease, making for sunny conditions up to the holiday.
As always, this will raise the concern for dangerous UV indices. For Memorial Day, the UV index will reach the extremely high value of 10, so take precautions if necessary. If you have plans outdoors, make sure to have protective clothing and accessories (wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses), sunblock (SPF 15+), and water available.
Day | Peak UV Index | Identifier |
---|---|---|
Saturday | 4 to 5 | Moderate |
Sunday | 9 | Very High |
Memorial Day | 10 | Extreme |
