Stormy Start to the Week

Good Monday morning everyone! It looks like I will be writing these Monday posts for the time being, and I am so excited to start my week with you all! For today, we have rain chances in store for most of the day, with the possibility of strong to severe storms as we head into the evening hours.

Severe Risk for Today

We will have chances for rain throughout the day (with some strong storms possible), but at this time, it appears that the highest rain and storm chances will come into play tomorrow evening and continue into tomorrow night. Unfortunately, the highest risk for severe weather does appear to be during the overnight hours, particularly after 8:00PM. PLEASE be sure that you have at least 2 ways to receive severe warnings tonight after you go to sleep!

Today’s severe weather Outlook (SPC)

The Storm Prediction did upgrade Bowling Green and points north and west to an enhanced risk for severe weather. The remainder of the WABBLES region is under a slight risk for severe weather. I have outlined the main risk for severe weather today below:

Today’s Primary severe weather threats

As you can see here, the primary concern is damaging winds, but an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out.

Tuesday and Beyond

The threat for severe storms will continue into Tuesday, and it does appear that Tuesday will be a repeat from Monday in terms of rain chances. Models are not agreeing completely, but at this point, the greatest threat for severe weather on Tuesday will likely be into the afternoon and evening hours.

Tuesday night will be stormy with additional chances for severe weather (WPC)

We begin to dry out on Wednesday with temperatures in the 60’s for the rest of the work week. We will have several days without rain, which will help in terms of drying things out for us. Some localized flooding over the next few days is not out of the question.

Rainfall totals of at least an inch possible on Tuesday alone (WPC)

That will do it for me today! Thanks for reading my friends, and make sure to follow us on our social media platforms as we track storms for the next few days @wxornotBG. Also, I cannot stress this enough, please make sure that you have MULTIPLE WAYS to get warnings overnight tonight. Have a great day everyone.
