Active and Stormy Pattern for This Week

Good Monday morning to all, and welcome to a new week! I hope you had a great weekend, despite the gloomy weather! On the bright side (literally), we have an extra hour of daylight! Hooray for spring! Spring also brings the showers, and we can definitely expect an active and stormy pattern for this week.

Long story short…it’s going to rain this week! (Tenor)

Showers Likely Today

Over the past few days, a low pressure system out in the Plains has been bringing lots of snow to the Colorado and Wyoming regions. As that low slides eastward, it will bring the active weather to our area. Don’t worry, it won’t be as snow!

Rather, it will be as rain. Showers look to move in this morning and bring a steady rain across South-Central Kentucky, and ending later this evening. A thunderstorm can’t be ruled out either, especially this afternoon.

Along with the rain, it also looks to be pretty windy. Winds could blow as high as 15 mph, but gusts could be more in the 25 mph range. Highs remain mild, though, in the low 60’s. Typical spring-like weather!

Showers look to move out by nightfall, but clouds look to stick around. Lows drop into the low 50’s overnight.

A Brief Break Tuesday

Tuesday looks to offer a break from the cloudy and dreary conditions. Clouds from Monday linger into the morning hours, but around lunchtime the clouds look to break up a bit and offer some of us a peek at some sunshine!

Temperatures also warm up a bit, with highs topping out in the low 70’s! Unfortunately, clouds look to fill back in during the evening hours as the next round of rain approaches.

Severe Weather Possible Wednesday?

As we turn to Wednesday, it’s possible we could see our first round of severe weather for the season. The SPC has us in a marginal risk for seeing severe weather right now.
