Good Monday morning, everyone! I hope everyone has stayed dry after a very wet Sunday! Bowling Green recorded a whopping ~6″ of rain over the past 48 hours leading to a lot of flooding issues in and around the area. Thankfully, an active weekend settles down for this week as drier weather arrives.
Cloudy but Quiet Today
The heavy rain finally moved out during the overnight hours which will give us an opportunity to dry out. However, a flood warning will remain in effect until the morning hours of March 2nd to account for still-standing water.
Today will remain on the cloudy side for most of the day keeping the dreary conditions around, but on the plus side we look to remain dry. We even have a shot at seeing some sunshine peek through this afternoon! Temperatures will also drop to the cooler side with a high near 50°.
Clouds will finally start to clear out come the evening and overnight hours, and colder air looks to filter back into the region. Lows will drop to near 30° after highs yesterday near 70°!
Sunny Skies Return!
As we go into Tuesday, high pressure looks to slide into the Ohio River Valley region and exert an influence into southern Kentucky. This means much better weather is on the way and we will see some sunshine again! Highs Tuesday remain on the cooler side, though, in the low 50’s.
A chance for brief showers is possible overnight Tuesday, but don’t expect another deluge! Just some showers from this system, and they are expected to move out by the daytime on Wednesday.
Sunny conditions return on Wednesday, this time with more mild temperatures in the upper 50’s! A beautiful day to say the least. Sunny and dry weather looks to stick with us through the end of the week and early next week which will give us plenty of time to dry out.
