Chilly Winter Weather to Kick Off February

Welcome to February! Can you believe we’re already a month into 2021? Crazy! Last night’s snow showers left a good covering for once! Watch out for slick roads today, and expect more chilly winter weather to kick off February.

Cloudy, but Quiet, Day

Last night’s snowmaker will be slow to leave today, meaning we can expect more clouds than sunshine today. A few leftover flurries may also fly during the morning hours, but don’t expect much.

Our passing storm is being followed by some pretty cold air, so that will settle into the region today. Highs don’t look to get out of the 30’s, so bundle up as you head out! That’s about 10° below average for February 1st.

Frigid air will stick around into the overnight hours as temps drop into the mid 20’s and skies remain mostly cloudy.

Sunny Skies Return, but Remain Chilly

Weather conditions look to improve some come Tuesday as low pressure is replace by high pressure. This will break up those clouds and help sunshine return to the area!

Temperature-wise, however, we remain on the chilly side with highs only reaching about 40°. Winds could also be a little breezy with speeds possible anywhere from 8 to 11 mph. Wednesday will feature another beautiful day with more sunshine and temps warming into the mid 40’s.

Next Round of Winter Weather?

If you’re a fan of snow and wintery weather, you must be loving the pattern we’re in! The next storm system brewing on the west coast could bring our next chance at some winter weather Thursday morning, but at the moment it isn’t looking like much.

Temperatures well above freezing will make any snowflakes hard to come by. We rather will be seeing more rain than snow, but there’s still the possibility as of now!
